Who are the translators and what are the terms of use?

Translators are volunteers that have signed up to help those that might need support.
Translators can have various levels of skill ranging from basic to native tongue.
Whilst we ask for details of any professional translation qualifications this information has not been verified and is purely provided in good faith.  We accept no responsibility for any errors or ommissions.

Translators are expected to assist to the best of their ability but please remember they are volunteers and you should make no offer of payment for any services received through this site.
Translators do not accept any liability for any errors or ommissions.  You will need to make your own risk assessment if this arrangement is suitable according to your particular circumstances.

How to I become a translator?

Firstly register on the site as a member. 
Complete and submit our registration form
We will then send you an email.  When you receive this click on the link to activate your account and then sign back in with your chosen user name and password.
Then go to the directory of translators and select your chosen language, then click on "add your listing" and complete the required information.
We will then contact you to discuss your offer to volunteer, and if following this discussion we are both happy to proceed your details will be added to the translation directory.

What happens next

Once your details are added to the directory registered site users will be able to contact you to ask for help.
They will send you a request through the site, but your email and contact details will not be disclosed at this stage.  You can then make contact direct with the person requesting help and arrange a suitable time and date for a consulation to take place.  You can arrange a video chat session through the site, or other methods of communication if you prefer.

Who can use this site?

Primarily the site has been devised to assist Public and Third Sector workers who are supporting people in non EU ethnic language speakers, where English is not their first language, and they might have some difficulty.
If your client needs some language support you can search through our database for an appropriate language speaker, and arrange a suitable time and date for a discussion to take place.
